On Being Angry

It’s great to be thoroughly angry,
to scream and blaspheme and then froth
and foam while your justified fury
gives roof-raising vent to your wrath.
And, oh, the relief to be flinging
dispensable crocks at the wall
makes anger, in levels of sinning,
the most satisfying of all.

Some folk do not relish a battle
or give a free rein to their rage;
they bottle it up, which is fatal
for then it will fester with age.
So never try keeping your temper
with partner or carer or friend;
go out with a yell not a whimper
and slam every door at the end.
