The NASA folks are overjoyed
by pictures of you, 'planetoid'.

Your nicknamed features – Mickey, whale,
bull’s eye, donut – all but pale

beside your bright white southern part:
the image of a human heart.

Outlier of the Milky Way,
all eyes are on your face today;

but nothing’s new, belittled one,
under the moon, the stars, the sun.

It’s taken us so long to see
this side of your geology

that seems to tell us where to go
to unearth all we need to know.
