Twin loaves of bread have just been born into the world under
my auspices. –Emily Dickinson Letter, 7 May 1850.
Loaves of bread
and leavening
will readjust,
as each mound must.
In the rising
by and by
the silent mound
may be unbound
and offer up
the levity
a loaflike tomb
provides as room.
Company often
comes to call
to celebrate
their newfound state.
