The vegetarian consumes
his fill of tender young legumes,
a menu he affects to savor,
claiming he does live beasts a favor.
How come he suffers no remorse
for living plants as dinner course?
They grow, they bloom, they reproduce,
but then get boiled or turned to juice.
It simply goes against the grain!
Who says that carrots feel no pain?
