D.A. Prince : My Library

"My Library"  I call it  -  dog-earred books
nobody else would give a second glance.
Order has never been my strongest point,
preferring serendipity, the chance
Quixote and Don Juan might enjoy
rubbing their shoulders against Becky Sharp.
Sartre meets Harry Potter  -  there's a match
to taunt those tidy types who like to carp
until the cows come home!  Books should make friends,
view new encounters eagerly, and so
widen our grasp of possibilities.
Xenophon v. Marx?  It's worth a go.
You can ignore prim order and her schemes;
Zephaniah next to Keats?  The stuff of dreams!
