Max Gutmann: Newphemisms

A euphemism in reverse,
That makes the thing described sound worse,
   We call a ‘ewwphemism’.
Not quite the same as this: the sort
Of phrase intended to distort
   Is branded ‘skewphemism’.
Instead of droning on and on
With word on word as hearers yawn,
   Employ a ‘fewphemism’.
And every line a man has fed
A gal to get her into bed?
   Each one's a ‘screwphemism’.
But when, perplexed and flustered, you
Say something that is really true,
   You've coined a ‘goofemism’.
