If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit.
There's no point being a damn fool about it. W. C. Fields

Now I’m “working from home”, I can do as I please,
So I sit in my underwear, gorging on cheese,
And give thanks to the Lord I no longer commute,
Or feel any compulsion to put on a suit.

I’ve followed the fashion, and quietly quit.
Hard work and my life are no longer a fit.
An honest day’s shirk for an honest day’s pay,
Puts off till tomorrow what needs done today.

It’s not that I’m idle, you must understand.
Each day overflows with assignments in hand.
There’s Insta and Facebook and X to update,
Then Netflix and porn – I ve so much on my plate!

We’re taught from the cradle to crave a good job,
And to shun the disorderly life of the slob.
But I’m staying this way till the day I’m retired.
Er . . . why is this email headed, YOU’RE FIRED!?
