Stephen Gold was a practising lawyer, in the hope of eventually getting it right, and having somehow succeeded in spite of himself, is now a trusted adviser to law firms throughout the U.K.  Born in Glasgow, and having lived there for most of his life, he now lives in London.

His special love (at least, the one he's prepared to reveal) is the limerick, and he has over 600 published limericks in OEDILF.com, the project to define by limerick every word in the Oxford English Dictionary. He has been a regular contributor to the Washington Post Style Invitational, his major contribution being to lower the average IQ of its followers. His inadequate spare time is spent mostly being bossed around by his incomprehensibly devoted family.
