On the subject of traveling with children,
We all have a story to tell.
Do you have a minute? I'll let you in
On my own little slice of Hell.
We were changing planes in an airport
With our three-year-old daughter in tow.
A balloon of the helium sort
Was handed to her and . . . oh no!
She tied it to Teddy, her bear,
And quick as a wink lost her grip.
So the toy at once took to the air
And set off on a dangerous trip.
As Teddy rose higher and higher
So did her hysterical scream.
I’d have given my soul to buy her
An entire sharp shooting SWAT team.
Teddy finally stuck to the dome
Omnipresent from far up above.
She discounted that in his new home,
He’d fill the whole airport with love.
These memories have mellowed with years
And a thousand more heart-warming scenes-
However, when calming your fears,
Take note that next comes the teens!
