I saw the toucans as they flew
from tree to tree across the blue
Brazilian bright savannah sky
with undulating motion high
above the thickets of bamboo.

When I was young I went to view
the aviary at the zoo,
and though they’re secretive and shy,   
                         I saw the toucans.

In Ireland there’s a famous brew
that's known as 'Guinness', dark of hue;
the campaign they once sold it by
used toucan ads to catch the eye.
And when I’d drunk a pint or two
                        I  saw the toucans.
