What’s mine is yours. What’s yours is mine.
This nice arrangement suits me fine
because you have an awful lot
while nothing’s all I’ve ever got.

We’ll be of use in different ways.
You’ll write the scripts. I’ll watch the plays.
Reciting lines will be your half.
My part’s to listen, cheer, and laugh.

We’ll lend an equal hand as hosts.
Procure the wine, prepare the roasts,
then rest assured I’ll bring a fork
and gladly help you pop the cork.

I know we’ll be a happy pair
because of how we’ve learned to share.
(Of course, it’s time to do your part
and praise this piece as sly and smart.)
