Animals in the wild fight tooth and claw
to subjugate their victims and survive
whereas their human cousins hum and haw –
their instincts are too weak to stay alive!
The lions and the tigers bare their teeth
and growl before they chomp gazelles to bits,
and yet a spider drives us far beneath
our covers as we’re scared out of our wits!
The bear rolls through a carcass till he smells
just like the filthy soil and rotten eggs,
though we disintegrate to fits and spells
when waiters cough upon our chicken legs!
If humans don’t improve their attitude,
their future on this earth is surely screwed.
