Could someone take over my life, please?
I'm tired and in need of a rest.
You’ll have my best wishes and house keys –
Sundry matters must soon be addressed:
The fleas on the cat need defeating,
A button’s come off my best coat,
And you're sure to get called to a meeting
Where the whip says you really must vote.
My romantic life isn't the quietest –
Maybe top up with vitamin B?
And my savings are all losing interest
Which, frankly, is mirroring me.
Please organise imports and exports
Of fridges and mangoes and wine,
And join in my hobbies and ball sports
While I stay at home and recline.
These matters have equal importance –
And I trust that is taken as read –
Though I have to admit that, on balance,
Some may only be real in my head,
But nevertheless they're a burden
(Which nobody quite understands)
So while I relax in the garden,
Someone please take the lot off my hands.
